After picking up a win in Game-3, the San Antonio Spurs now look to even things up in Game 4 of their Western Conference Semifinal with the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday night at the AT&T Center in San Antonio. The game will be televised on TNT. Chris Paul had 35 points and nine assists Thursday in Game-3, but the Hornets could not hold off the Spurs, who rallied in the second half for a 110-99 home win. David West had 23 points and 12 boards for New Orleans, which still has a 2-1 series lead. Oddsmakers at online sports wagerig giant Bodoglife.com currently have the Spurs listed as 5½-point (ATS) and -240 (ML) favorites versus the Hornets, while the game's total is sitting at 189. In Game-3, the Spurs covered the 7-point spread, while the combined 209 points sailed OVER the posted total of 183. Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili each had 31 points to pace the Spurs. Tim Duncan chipped in with 16 points in the win. There are several betting trends to consider before laying out any action for Game-4. New Orleans, who is 4-1 SU in its last five games is facing a San Antonio, a team that is 5-0 SU in its last five games at home in AT&T Center. The Spurs are also 8-1 SU in its last nine games when playing at home against the Hornets. If you like betting the total, the OVER should have good value. The total has gone OVER in four of the last five games played between the Hornets and Spurs and has gone OVER in eight of the last 11 games played in San Antonio between the teams. Point-Spreads.com NBA pick: OVER 189 |

If the Los Angeles Lakers can steal a win in Game-4 Sunday at Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City, they can put the Utah Jazz in dire-straights in the NBA Western Conference playoffs with game-5 returning to Tinsel town. However, with a Lakers Game-4 loss, its all even-up; something the Jazz will try to do when the game tips-off at 3:30 p.m. ET. The good news for Utah is the Lakers have not won a post-season game in Utah for almost 20 years, their last win coming May 15, 1988. Oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com expect a close one in Game-4 having installed the Jazz a slight 1 ½-chalk favorite ATS for today’s game with a 211 total. Early betting trends show the public leaning heavily on a Lakers SU win with 97 percent of bets falling on LA while 67 percent of gamblers prefer the Lakers ATS. The public expects the total to go OVER the posted 211 points with 67 percent of the bets placed. Utah held the Lakers to under 100 points for the first time in the postseason in Game-3. The Jazz held the lead for over three quarters of the game, last trailing with 1:25 remaining in the first quarter. Carlos Boozer tied his career playoff high for rebounds with 20 and scored 22 points for the Jazz. Deron Williams finished the game 18 points and 12 assists. The Jazz failed to cover the 5-point spread at home, while the 203 points fell UNDER the posted total of 215. In Utah, the Lakers are 3-3 in their last six regular season road games and have gone 4-6 in their last 10 games at EnergySolutions Arena overall. Under head coach Phil Jackson, the Lakers are 21-10 against Utah. Point-Spreads.com NBA Playoffs Pick: Jazz -1 1/2 |

The WSOP is played every year is Las Vegas, and the 2007 World Series of Poker was no different. While there were more than fifty events to take part in, many people involved in the game always seem to be the most interested in the Main Event. In the 2007 World Series of Poker, the Main Event was a $10,000 No Limit Texas Hold’em event that ended in victory for Jerry Yang. In the end, Jerry Yang won more than $8 million dollars, the prize for the Main Event in 2007. Will Jerry Yang repeat in 2008? This Point-Spreads.com poker expert doubts it but if you want to find out in person you should play online poker now at Gnuf.com with WSOP Qualifiers and new tournaments starting every 5 minutes. Las Vegas hosts the World Series of Poker every year. Many people enjoy playing in Las Vegas because this is one of the most prestigious areas in the world when it comes to poker. Players are in for a treat because they are able to play a game they love in a city known for that game. With fifty-five events taking place over the course of more than a month, players are often required to decide beforehand which events they would like to take part in and how many they can afford to take part in during the series. Many players are limited by their own finances when it comes to how many events they can take part in; the 2007 World Series of Poker was no different for players. Held in the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino, a number of records were set during the 2007 World Series of Poker. Not only did Steve Billirakis become the youngest player to win a gold bracelet during the 2007 World Series of Poker, Phil Hellmuth was able to win his eleventh world series of poker bracelet. Unfortunately for Steve Billirakis, his record was shattered a mere three months later when an eighteen year old, in the WSOP Europe tournament, beat him as the youngest player to win a bracelet.

We’re now in the thick of the NBA Playoffs and this weekend is loaded with crucial Semi-Final match-ups in both conferences that can be wagered upon at Sportsbook.com. Saturday finds the Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic squaring off in Game 4 of their series. Orlando finally got a win against Detroit in the post-season its last time out to cut the Pistons lead to 2-1. The 111-86 final saw them cover the five-point spread with ease, and the 197 combined points saw the over cash for the second time in the series. Keep a look out for news on Chauncey Billups who injured himself in the first quarter Wednesday night. The Pistons have covered two of the first three games in this series, and might be getting an extra heaping load of points if Billups can’t go. Orlando is installed the favorite at Sportsbook.com by a 5 ½ point chalk ATS and -230 ML with a 187 ½ total. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics will square off in the Quicken Loans Arena for the first time in their series as well on Saturday night after Lebron and company battled the Celtics in the Boston Garden throughout the first two games of the series. The Cavaliers are currently installed 1 ½ point favorites ATS with a 176 total. Money line odds were not available at press time. That’s just two of four games total scheduled to tip this weekend. New Orleans and San Antonio will compete in the fourth game of their series on Sunday night, while Game 4 of the other Western Conference Semi-Final between Utah and Los Angeles will take place in Salt Lake City Sunday afternoon. Utah is favored by a 3 ½ point chalk with a 211 ½ total. On Sunday night San Antonio is a 6-point favorite at home against New Orleans. |

Darlington Raceway has been called many things but most notably “The Track Too Tough to Tame” or “The Lady in Black.” This 1.37 mile egg shaped oval in Darlington, S.C., was the first super-speedway built and over 50 years later is still claiming its share of casualties and damaged egos. Gregg Biffle will be starting from the pole position for the Dodge Challenger 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup series race Saturday night after running a qualifying lap of 27.40 seconds for a speed of 179.442 mph. However, according to oddsmakers at SportsBetting.com , Tony Stewart, winner of Friday’s Diamond Hill Plywood 200 Nationwide series race at Darlington is the race favorite at 5/1 odds. Pole sitter Biffle along with Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch should be strong challengers at 6/1 odds as well as Dale Earnhardt Jr. at 9/2 odds. At 7/1 odds Denny Hamlin is expected to be in the mix. Biffle, who has won two of the last three NASCAR Sprint Cup races at Darlington, was one of 41 drivers to eclipse Ward Burton's 1996 record of 173.797 mph. With his first Darlington pole in the books and fifth career pole, Biffle is now looking forward to Saturday night's Dodge Challenger 500. "I'm extremely happy with it in race trim," Biffle said. "I can't wait until tomorrow [Saturday] night." Dale Earnhardt Jr. scored his fourth top five start since joining Hendrick Motorsports after he drove his retro Mountain Dew Chevrolet to a lap of 179.357 mph. Odds favorite Tony Stewart notched his best starting position at Darlington based on time after he qualified his No. 20 Toyota in fourth with a lap of 179.076 mph. "I'm ecstatic with this," Stewart said. "It's faster than I ran - luckily. Knock on wood, I haven't put a scratch on this car." The struggles of LeBron James over the first two games of Cleveland's Eastern Conference semifinal against Boston have been well-documented in the media, and he will be eager to come back to QuickenLoans Arena for Game 3 on Saturday, when the Cavaliers host the Celtics in an NBA playoff clash. BetOnline.com has the Cleveland Cavaliers –1.5 favorites against the Boston Celtics with the total set at 176 points.
The Celtics put up another stellar defensive performance in Game 2's 89-73 victory, forcing the Cavaliers to shoot 35.6% from the floor with 15 turnovers. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen recovered from a offensively poor Game 2 with 19 and 16 points, respectively, while Kevin Garnett had 13 points and 12 rebounds. The Boston bench also played a big part in the win, especially during a 27-12 second quarter which gave the Celtics the upper hand. The substitutes outscored their Cleveland counterparts 34-17, and brought a lot of energy to a team that got off to a sluggish start.
James led the way with 21 points, but he has his second straight below-par shooting game by going 6-for-24 in this encounter. James is struggling with the length of the Boston defense, particularly when he drives the lane as Garnett and company are closing off his passing lanes. When he does make a pass, his teammates cannot hit their open shots, with the exception of Zydrunas Ilgauskas, who was 9-for-12 for 19 points. Cleveland's long-range shooting was horrendous, as they were 2-for-13 as a team from three-point land.
The Cavaliers are narrow 1-point favorites at home in this battle, and without a doubt, a huge game is needed by James to break the Celtics out of their funk. Role players such as Delonte West and Wally Szczerbiak should be more comfortable in front of their home crowd, but James will be the one to get them going. The Celtics also have yet to prove they can win on the road, as their three losses at Atlanta shows. Look for “King” James to break out as the Cavaliers pull themselves back into the series with a key victory on Saturday. Get your Free NBA Prediction in Now!

The Dallas Stars looked lethargic during the first half of their Game 1 loss, and they will need to be prepared from the drop of the puck when they meet the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena for Game 2 of their Western Conference final series on Saturday. BetOnline.com has the Detroit Red Wings –220 odds favorites against the Dallas Stars +180 with the total 5 goals at +100 reduced juice.
The Stars were outshot 12-4 and down by two goals at the end of the first period of Game 1's 4-1 loss, as they still looked tired from their four-overtime win over San Jose to clinch their six-game series. Captain Brenden Morrow notched the lone Dallas goal late in the second period, but Mike Ribeiro, who is tied for second in postseason scoring, failed to register a shot on goal in the contest. Marty Turco made 27 saves in a losing effort, and the seventh-year goaltender is now winless in ten career starts at Joe Louis Arena.
The Red Wings made the Stars pay for their undisciplined play, scoring three goals on the power play. Detroit showed no signs of rust after rolling over Colorado in a four-game sweep to earn some well-deserved rest, as they were efficient and deadly as ever. Tomas Holmstrom had a goal and an assist in the win, while Johan Franzen potted his league-leading 12th goal of the playoffs. Defensemen Niklas Lidstrom and Niklas Kronwall had a pair of assists apiece as they have established themselves as the pre-eminent defense pairing during this postseason. Chris Osgood stopped 20 shots for his seventh straight victory.
The Red Wings are -225 favorites to take a 2-0 lead in this series, and they have yet to lose at home in these playoffs. Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk combined for 14 shots without a goal in Game 1, and if you give this duo any more opportunities, they will make you pay eventually. The Red Wings looked amazing in Game 1, and Dallas did nothing to make you think they could come back in the second game. Take the Red Wings to snatch a commanding 2-0 lead back to the Lone Star State with a win on Saturday. Get your Free NHL Prediction in Now!

The Utah Jazz are hoping that home court will be their bread and butter tonight when they host the L.A. Lakers in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semi-finals. The Lakers lead the best of seven series 2-0. Oddsmakers at SBGglobal.com have the Jazz as 5-point favorites over the Lakers with the over/under set at 215. Get your NBA Playoff Prediction in now at SBGglobal.com
The Jazz have only lost four games on home court during the regular season, one of which was a 95-106 loss to the Lakers. They are now 1-5 SU against the Lakers, where they average 106 PPG. The Jazz are 4-4 SU in the playoffs. The Lakers have shut down Utah's attempts to get the pick-and-roll rolling and forced the Jazz into taking outside shots, which have not been falling. Utah has also rushed some attempts that led to either turnovers or missed shots that bounced right to the Lakers. If they don’t get their offense rolling, home court won’t be much of an advantage. Top producer Carlos Boozer is just 9 for 24 in this series, he’s stuck outside the lane and missing the mid-range jump shots that went in during the regular season. When he does drive the lane Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol have been there to either swat away the shot or force an awkward attempt. The Jazz are 2-1 SU at home in the playoffs, 10-11 ATS on no day rest and 22-22 over/under at home.
The Lakers are winning like Champions in dominating fashion. They are a perfect 6-0 SU in the playoffs and 2-0 SU on the road. They swept Denver and now they look to sweep Utah. Kobe Bryant was recently given MVP honors before his last game against the Jazz and he showed why he is MVP. He had 34pts, six assists and eight rebounds. He made 11 of 18 from the field, 1 for 2 from beyond the arch and he made 11 of 12 from the free throw line. He’s averaging 35 PPG in two games against the Jazz. Derek Fisher and Pau Gasol have been great for the Lakers and Luke Walton has proven his worth coming off the bench. The Lakers have blocked 17 shots as they pack the lane forcing the field goal. "We obviously have an advantage. What we did was take care of our home court," said Bryant, "Now we've got to try and stop them from taking care of their home court." The Lakers are perfect in the playoffs, 11-6 ATS on no days rest and 19-24 over/under on the road.
Recent Trends to Consider
- Lakers are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.
- Lakers are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.
- Lakers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 Conference Semifinals games.
- Lakers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a road underdog of 5.0-10.5.
- Lakers are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win.
- Lakers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 vs. NBA Northwest.
- Jazz are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
- Jazz are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
- Jazz are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. Western Conference.
GAME: L.A. Lakers Lakers (63-25) at Utah Jazz (58-32) DATE/TIME: Friday, May 09 - 9:00 PM EST LINE: SBGglobal.com TOTAL: 215 PICK: Lakers +5
The Bottom Line: The Lakers have done it once before and they’ll do it again tonight. They are too good with a team that has talent on and off the bench. Gasol has been a great addition to an already high powered offense. Get your NBA Playoff Prediction in now at SBGglobal.com and receive a 10% sign-up bonus on your initial deposit. |
