Dallas vs. Golden State NBA Predictions: The Dallas Mavericks, amidst a mini-slump with a 5-5 record over the last 10 games and lost four of the last five, need a win Monday night when they travel to Oakland, Calif., to play the Golden State Warriors, the last place team from the Pacific Division. Golden State backers are getting +155 odds on the BetUS moneyline while Dallas is giving -175.
Monday's match-up will mark the second game between the Warriors and Mavericks in the last six days, after the two met in Dallas on February 3. The Mavericks came away with a 110-101 victory in that contest, evening the season series at 1-1. With that loss fresh in their minds, the Warriors will look to take the lead in the series by defending their home court. Key to the game: The Mavericks must find an answer for Warriors guard Monta Ells. The versatile lead guard recorded a 37-point night in Golden State's 111-103 road win in Dallas on Nov. 24. He followed that up with a career-high 46 points, albeit in a loss, in Dallas' 110-101 win on the American Airlines Center floor last Wednesday night. Stopping Ellis is priority No. 1 for Mavericks Rick Carlisle's crew.

Hornets at Magic - NBA Picks: The New Orleans Hornets (27-24), currently sitting in the 10th spot of the NBA Western Conference Standings, visit the Southeastern Conference leading Orlando Magic (34-17) for a cross-conference battle. The Magic are looking for their ninth win in 11 games. Tonight's game will be televised on TNT with an 8 pm Eastern start time. Orlando appeared to be cruising to a fifth consecutive win Friday, but blew a 21-point lead to lose 92-91 to last-place Washington after being outscored 39-17 in the third quarter.  The Devils (36-19-0-2) have lost six of ten and have lost four of their last five on the road. They are on the road where they average GAG and allow GAG. They recently lost in NY Rangers 1-3. Their lone goal scorer was Dainius Zubrus late in the third. Goalie Martin Brodeur stopped 22 of 25 shots and is 4-6 with a 2.70 GAA. Overall he’s 33-18-2 with a 2.25 GAA and a .917 SVPCT. The Devils made a big trade last week to acquire Kovalchuk's services from Atlanta, but the Russian sniper has gone goalless in his first two games with his new club. He has 31 goals on the season and has excellent career numbers against the Flyers, posting 18 goals and 14 assists in 30 games versus Philadelphia. The Devils 74 points are just two ahead of Pittsburgh for first place in the Atlantic Division. The Devils have lost two straight and four of their last five tests in the City of Brotherly Love.
The Flyers (28-25-1-2) have won five of ten and three of their last five at home. They are at home where they average GAG and allow GAG. They recently lost in Minnesota 1-2. Their lone scorer was Daniel Carcillo in the first and couldn’t get anything going after that. Goalie Michael Leighton stopped 28 of 30 shots and is 5-5 with a 2.60 GAA. Overall he’s 9-7-1 with a 2.89 GAA and a .902 SVPCT. Leighton was starting in place of Ray Emery, who is day-to-day with a hip injury. Emery is 5-3-2 in 10 career games against the Devils and is questionable for tonight. When the Flyers attack the net, they score - and win. When they don't, they lose . That's their one and only common thread through 56 games. "We need more traffic," Pronger said yesterday. "The high-traffic scoring areas are where we need to bear down more and get more bodies. We need to get dirty in those areas. The rebounds are sitting there, we just need to get to them. The Flyers made a minor trade on Saturday, dealing defenseman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen to Detroit for forward Ville Leino. It's not clear when Leino, who had four goals and three assists in 42 games with the Red Wings this season, will make his Flyers debut. Philly has 59 points and is currently tied with the Rangers for the eighth and final postseason berth in the East.
