Boise State vs. Oregon State Match Up PreviewThe Boise State University Broncos host the Oregon State University Beavers Thursday night, “On The Blue” as how BSU coaches, players and fans alike refer to the unique blue turf on the floor of Bronco Stadium. ESPN will televise the game nationally with Chris Fowler calling play by play, Kirk Herbstreit providing color commentary and Erin Andrews handling sideline reporting.

The Palms Sports Book –Las Vegas on Sunday night, installed the Broncos as an 8-point favorite. This is the final game in what has been an entertaining four-game non-conference series between the two schools. Every game of the four-game set has been nationally televised. The Beavers enter the game looking to snap a four-game non-conference regular season road losing streak that dates back to a 35-3 victory at Temple in 2002. One of those four losses was to Boise State 53-34, Sept 10, 2004. Boise State has won 46 of its last 48 games at home. Oregon State leads the series between the schools 4-1.

New Orleans Saints 2006 NFC South Preview

The New Orleans Saints went with first year head coach Sean Payton to lead the team in the post Katrina Era.  Lucky for Payton, the post Katrina Era will include Reggie Bush in it.  Besides Bush, the New Orleans Saints will have Drew Brees as their quarterback.  With Bush in the backfield, the Saints won’t have to rely on the passing game as much as they did in past years.

Drew Brees signed with the New Orleans Saints in the off season.  Brees is overcoming a injury to his shoulder and has looked sharp in the pre season.  While playing for the San Diego Chargers last season, Brees racked up 3,576 yards and 24 touchdowns.  Reggie Bush will be one of the featured running backs for the Saints.  Bush is widely considered to be the most exciting player in the NFL and he has not even touched the ball in a  NFL game yet.  Bush helped lead the USC Trojans to a National Championship 2 years ago.  Deuce McAllister will be the work horse running back for New Orleans.  Deuce was hampered with injuries in 2005 and only ran for 335 yards last season.  Donte Stallworth and Joe Horn will be the starting wide receivers that Brees will be looking to get the ball to in New Orleans.

Carolina Panthers 2006 NFC South Preview

John Fox returns for his 5th season as the head coach of the Carolina Panthers.  The Panthers have made it to the NFC Championship 2 of the last three seasons and Carolina looks poised to make another run to the Super Bowl in 2006.  Fox has a solid 5 – 2 record in the post season and potentially could have been 6 – 1 if he did not lose his top three running backs going into the 2005 NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Jake Delhomme will  be the starting quarterback for the Carolina Panthers going into opening day of the 2006 NFL football season.  Delhomme completed 262 passes on 435 attempts for 3,421 yards and 24 touchdowns.  Delhomme will be throwing to Keyshawn Johnson and Steve Smith.  Smith pulled his hamstring in the pre season but is expected to play on opening day.  Smith is arguably the best wide receiver in the league and emassed 1,563 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns in 2005.  Keyshawn Johnson is nearing the end of his career and is hoping to get to the Super Bowl with Carolina this season.  Running back DeShaun Foster is looking to break a 1,000 yards this season.  DeAngelo Williams was drafted in the first round to back up Foster.  The Panthers offense will not miss a beat this season.
