The Seahawks (2-4) lost to Arizona 3-27 in Week 6 and sat out with a bye week last week. The Seahawks sit in third in the NFC West. QB Matt Hasselbeck made 10 of 29 passes for 112 yards with one interception; overall he’s thrown for 729 yards with seven TD passes and three interceptions in four games for an 85 passer rating. RB Julius Jones had five carries for a low five yards, in fact the Hawks rushed for a total 14 yards on 11 carries. WR John Carlson made two catches for 55 yards, while WR T.J. Houshmanzadeh made four catches for 34 yards. To say the Seahawks got no offense is an understatement. The Seahawks' offensive line has endured many injuries and QB Hasselbeck has suffered as a result. He was sacked five times in his last outing against Arizona and hit many more times. In last year's loss to Dallas, Hasselbeck was constantly under duress. If the Cowboys are able to batter him again, it could be a long game for the Seahawks. Their defense is ranked 12th overall with an 18th ranked passing game and 28th ranked running game. Their best bet to move the chains will be to go up against the Cowboys 21st ranked pass defense . Their 28th ranked running game won’t be much use against the Cowboys 16th ranked rush defense . The Seahawks average 19.7ppg and give up 18.2ppg, while they average 13.5ppg on the road and allow 28.5ppg. They are 2-4 ATS and 2-4 over/under.
The Cowboys (4-2) beat Atlanta at home 37-21 at home in Week 7 and now sit third in the NFC East. QB Tony Romo made 21 of 29 passes for 311 yards with three TD passes; overall he’s thrown for 1,652 yards with nine TD passes and four interceptions for a 94.7 passer rating. RB Marion Barber had 14 carries for 47 yards, while WR Austin Miles made six catches for 171 yards with two TD’s. TE Patrick Crayton added a TD. In WR Miles Austin’s first three seasons with the Cowboys he had 18 career catches for 354 yards and three touchdowns. In the past three weeks alone, he has surpassed all of those numbers, with 19 catches for 440 yards and four touchdowns. Such a rapid ascension is rare in the NFL, but he has an excellent chance to keep his hot streak going against Seattle's 16th ranked pass defense. Though Dallas is 4-2, it has not yet put together two consecutive outstanding efforts . It followed up Week 1 and Week 3 wins with losses and despite winning in Week 5 against Kansas City, it took overtime to do so against a pathetic Chiefs team. Now is the Cowboys' chance to show they are ready to string together some wins and go on a run heading into the second half of the schedule. The Cowboys offense is ranked second best with the ninth best passing game and fourth best running game. The Cowboys average 26.5ppg and give up 19.8ppg, while averaging 29.7ppg at home and allow 20.3ppg. They are 3-3 ATS and 4-2 over/under.
Recent Trends to Consider:
- Under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.
- Underdog is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
- Road team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
- Seahawks are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings.
- Cowboys are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games in Week 8.
- Cowboys are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games in November.

World Series 2009 - Phillies at Yankees Game 2 Picks: Cliff Lee was especially nasty as World Series 2009 Game 1 starter - going the distance for the Philadelphia Phillies versus the New York Yankees and picking up the winning decision with the 6-1 victory, giving Philadelphia a 1-0 series lead. Lee fanned 10 batters and pitched eight shutout innings before allowing a single unearned run in the ninth. On the offensive side, Phillies Chase Utley delivered the knockout blow with his two home runs. Raul Ibanez also drove in a pair of runs in the win. The Phillies won the game as +160 underdogs at Bodog.com , while the seven runs went UNDER the posted 7 1/2 total. Derek Jeter went 3-for-4 at the plate for the Yankees, who were -180 favorites in the contest. Yankees starter C.C. Sabathia gave up four hits and two runs over seven innings in the loss. For Thursday's Game 2, Philadelphia will start Pedro Martinez . The veteran righthander is 5-1 this season with a 3.14 ERA. New York will be looking to even the series on the arm of righthander A.J. Burnett who went 13-9 on the season with a 4.07 ERA.
The last time A.J. Burnett faced the Phillies was in inter-league play back in May when he allowed three homers. In three postseason starts, two of them at home, Burnett has not allowed a single home run. World Series 2009 oddsmakers at super-sportsbook Bodog.com list the Yankees as -200 favorites for Game 2 with a posted total of 9. Phillies backers are getting +180 moneyline odds. Martinez is 11-11 with a 3.20 ERA in 32 career starts against the Yankees, and is 1-2 with a 4.71 ERA in six postseason appearances against them.

The NY Jets play host to the Miami Dolphins, Sunday Nov 1, as Miami looks for their first road win of the season. The Dolphins have won six of their past seven against AFC East opponents, including the last two. NFL oddsmakers at Sportsbetting.com have the Jets as -3.5 point home favs over the Dolphins with the over/under set at 40.5 points. Be sure to get your Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets NFL Week 8 Predictions in now at Sportsbetting.com
The Dolphins (2-4) lost to New Orleans 34-46 at home in Week 7 and now sit last in the AFC East. QB Chad Henne made 18 of 36 passes for 211 yards with two interceptions; overall he’s thrown for 659 yards with three TD passes and three interceptions in four games for a 76.5 passer rating. RB Ricky Williams had nine carries for 80 yards with three TD’s, while RB Ronnie Brown had 16 carries for 48 yards with a TD. WR Brian Hartline made three catches for 94 yards. The Dolphins picked off three interceptions and sacked Saints QB Drew Brees five times. Miami’s fourth ranked rush defense is going to have to watch out for the now best ranked running game in the league . The Jets have a 29th ranked passing game that should even out against the Dolphins 22nd ranked pass defense. They don’t air out the ball often with their 25th ranked pass game and probably won’t against the Jets fourth ranked pass defense. Miami has played very well at times this season, but a brutal schedule has left them with a firm hold on last place in the AFC East. If the Dolphins are to defend their AFC East title, they must get on a roll soon -- starting with the Jets. The Dolphins average 24.3ppg and give up 25.3ppg, while they average 10ppg on the road and allow 21ppg. They are 2-4 ATS and 4-2 over/under.
The Jets (4-3) won in Oakland 38-0 in Week 7 and sit second in the AFC East. QB Mark Sanchez made 9 of 15 passes for 143 yards with one TD pass; overall he’s thrown for 1,178 yards with six TD passes and 10 interceptions for a 61.5 passer rating. RB Shonn Greene had 19 carries for 144 yards with two TD’s, while RB Thomas Jones had 26 carries for 121 yards and a TD. WR David Clowney made four catches for 79 yards with a TD. The Jets accumulated 316 rushing yards and LB Calvin Pace recorded three sacks on the day. Miami squandered a 21 point lead in the first half as their defense let them down. Coach Rex Ryan prides himself on his defensive schemes, but the Dolphins' Wildcat formation completely confused the Jets defense in Week 5. Rex Ryan will no doubt have some fresh ideas in place to stop the Dolphins' unique attack , but whether they will work remains to be seen. Their defense is ranked 10th overall with a seventh ranked pass defense and 22nd ranked rush defense. If they can’t slow down the league’s second best running game, it’s going to be a long day for the Jets defense. Not to mention their offense will see little time on the field. Rookie RB Shonn Green had an impressive showing last week filling in for the injured RB Leon Washington, but that was against the Raiders, this is the first time he will face a defense that game plans for him. The Jets average 21.7ppg and give up 14.9ppg, while averaging 17.7ppg at home and allow 14ppg. They are 4-3 ATS and 3-4 over/under.
Recent Trends to Consider:
- Dolphins are 6-20-2 ATS in their last 28 meetings.
- Dolphins are 2-7-2 ATS in their last 11 meetings in New York.
- Underdog is 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings.
- Road team is 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings.
- Dolphins are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. AFC East.
- Jets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a home favorite.
- Jets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite of 3.5-10.0.
