Dale Earnhardt Jr. Odds to win Daytona 500: Dale Earnhardt Jr. will attempt to exercise the ghost of 2009 tomorrow afternoon as he goes for his second career Daytona 500 victory. Last year's dismal campaign saw NASCAR's most popular driver finish inside the top 10 just five times and none of those came at Daytona International Speedway. Sunday's race is scheduled to begin at 1:00pm ET on FOX. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Odds to win Daytona 500 at sportsbook Bodog.com are presently 15 to 2.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is probably more excited for tomorrow's race than any driver in the Sprint Cup Series; closing the book onDale Earnhardt Jr. Odds to win Daytona 500 last year's futility cannot come soon enough for the son of NASCAR's greatest driver. Not only did Earnhardt's performance on the track result in a 25th place finish in the points standings (3422, which was 3230 points behind teammate and champion Jimmie Johnson), it also saw the replacement of longtime crew chief Tony Eury Jr.

If there is a track for Earnhardt Jr. to get things going in the right direction, it is Daytona. Like his father, Junior has shown a penchant for restrictor plate racing, recording seven of his 18 career victories at superspeedways (2.5+ miles). The 35 year old Earnhardt, who finished 27th at Daytona last February, has two wins and six top five finishes in 20 career races at the track.

Earnhardt Jr., who won the 2004 Daytona 500, will again drive the No. 88 AMP Energy/National Guard Chevy for Rick Hendrick Motorsports. He will start tomorrow's race from the second spot, next to teammate Mark Martin.

Iowa State vs. Kansas - College Basketball Odds & Predictions: Top-ranked Kansas will defend its ranking and leading spot in the Big 12 Confence mens basketball standings when they host the Iowa State Cyclones at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kan., Saturday night (8 pm Eastern).

Iowa State vs. Kansas - College Basketball Odds & PredictionsCollege basketball oddsmakers at online sportsbook BetUS.com have installed the Jayhawks as 21-point favorites versus the Cyclones.

Kansas (23-1, 9-0) has won nine-straight games, all in league play, after suffering its only loss at Tennessee on Jan. 10. The Jayhawks currently sit on top of the Big 12 Conference as the only team without a loss in the league. The Jayhawks are coming off an 80-68 win at Texas on Monday night.

Iowa State (13-11, 2-7 Big 12) has lost 19 consecutive games to ranked opponents. Last time out an under-manned and roster depleted Cyclones team hung tough with Missouri on Wednesday before falling by nine, 56-65. Iowa State competed with just seven scholarship players and a total of eight players suited up. LaRon Dendy is expected to suit up versus the Jayhawks after missing Wednesdays game versus Missouri.

College basketball predictions: While Kansas has the potential to win this game big, predicting a final result of more than 20 points is risky. That is why I like Iowa State to cover the 21-chalk.

Maryland at Duke - College Basketball Odds & Predictions: The top two teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference go head to head Saturday (1:00 pm Eastern, CBS) when the Maryland Terrapins (16-6) visit the Duke Blue Devils (20-4) at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke leads the ACC at 8-2, with Maryland in second place at 6-2. But the Terps have four starters back from last season, and would dearly love to chase down the Dukies.

Maryland at Duke - College Basketball PredictionsCollege Basketball oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com have installed the Blue Devils as 10-point favorites versus the Terps. Both these teams have been kind to their financial backers this season; Duke is 14-8 vs. the Sportsbook.com pointspreads, while Maryland is 11-7.

The Blue Devils have won three straight and five of their last six after Wednesday's 64-54 win at North Carolina. John Scheyer went 5-for-9 behind the 3-point arc on his way to a team-high 24 points, while Kyle Singler added 19 points and nine rebounds.

The Terrapins are 6-2 in the conference, a full game behind the Blue Devils. Maryland and Duke are the only two teams in the league remaining with only two losses. The Terps will attempt to snap a five-game losing streak in the series with the Blue Devils.

Maryland has won six of their last seven games and are 8-2 since the first of the year. One of the two losses was an overtime defeat at Wake Forest on Jan. 10. The Terps are 2-2 on the road in their first four conference games.

College Basketball Predictions: Duke should win the game SU but covering the 10-spot is too much to ask. Taking Maryland (+10) is the best value bet.
