The NY Yankees got younger and faster in the off-season to go along with their known power and pitching dominance. They have provided their offense and defense with speed after acquiring All-Star CF Curtis Granderson. Although LF Johnny Damon and CF Melky Cabrera have departed, the acquisition of Granderson and his 30 homers from last year will make up for the speed and power lost, as well as give the Yankees better defense. The Boston Red Sox made a few moves in the off-season, particularly bolstering their pitching rotation, as well as adding some depth into their already potent offense.
