Detroit Tigers at Boston Red Sox Betting PreviewThe American League will be the focus of Tuesday's Major League Baseball schedule, as a winless Detroit Tigers team goes on the road to take on the Boston Red Sox to face the defending World Series Champions. BetOnline.com has the Boston Red Sox -160 odds favorites against the Detroit Tigers +150 with the over/under set at 9.5 runs.

The Tigers were swept in both of their opening series at home, falling to Kansas City and Chicago in the span of a week. In an attempt to halt this slide, the Tigers will send out 43-year-old lefty Kenny Rogers (0-1, 3.00), who gave up two runs on five hits over six innings in a 4-0 loss to the Royals in his first start of the year. Rogers is looking to get back to his best after an injury-plagued campaign last season.

The Red Sox were swept in Toronto on the weekend, and Daisuke Matsuzaka (1-0, 2.31) will try to turn Boston's fortunes around. “Dice-K” was outstanding in his last outing, allowing a run on two hits over 6 2/3 innings in a 2-1 win at Oakland.  Matsuzaka was 1-1 in two starts against the Tigers last season with an ERA of 4.50.

The Tigers have taken six of their last ten meetings with the Red Sox, including a sweep of Boston at home in their final series last year. The Red Sox will be fired up for their first series of the year at Fenway Park, so take Boston in their home opener on Tuesday. Get your Free MLB Pick in Now!
