Phillies at Braves MLB Odds & Picks April 8 2011

by Reno Gold on Friday, April 8th, 2011

Two of the National Leagues best starting pitchers, Phillies left-hander Cliff Lee and Braves right-hander Tim Hudson, will battle Friday night in game-one of a weekend series at Turner Field in Atlanta. The Phillies, at 5-1, have jumped out to lead the National League East division by two full games over the second place Mets and Marlins and hold a 2 1/2 games lead over the Braves (3-4).

Phillies at Braves MLB Odds & Picks April 8 2011Odds makers installing MLB Lines and other baseball odds, list Hudson and the Braves -105 favorites on the off shore moneyline with a seven-run game total. The Braves are getting +190 on the run line (-1 1/2) while the RL price on Philadelphia (+1 1/2) is -230.

Hudson started the Braves year off on a positive note in his last start by pitching seven strong innings against Washington allowing one run on three hits and a walk. He also struck out five batters and retired the last 17 batters he faced. In his 82 career starts at Turner Field, Hudson is 40-23 with a 3.32 ERA.

The Phillies topped the Mets in a 11-0 laugher Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park in a matinee get-away game. That made winners of bettors who got Philadelphia at -190 on the moneyline, while the total score (11) was good news for OVER bettors.

Last time out for Atlanta, they were a 4-2 loser as they battled the Brewers on the road. Moneyline bettors who got the Brewers at -102 were rewarded, while the 6 combined runs moved the game UNDER for totals bettors.

My MLB Picks for today is OVER 7-runs. It just seems in the pitching duels some one has a break down; especially early in the year. MLB BEST BET OVER 7..
