The Red Sox are currently in fourth place in the American League East, trailing the first place Rays by seven games.
Twenty-five year old Clay Buchholz has been called upon to stop the bleeding. While he has pitched more than effectively this year, a 2.19 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 24.2 innings pitched, Boston is 2-2 in his four starts.
