The Kansas City Royals, the surprising leader in the American League Central, return home tonight to face the Chicago White Sox. Kansas City is fresh off a series win against the Twins at the Metrodome while the White Sox are attempting to rebound from back-to-back losses to the Rangers. This evening's game is scheduled to get underway at 8:10pm ET at Kauffman Stadium. Chicago White Sox vs Kansas City Royals MLB Picks at SBGglobal.com have the Royals listed as a -180 moneyline favorite. The game total is set at eight with the over being favored at -115 odds. Kansas City won for the fourth time in five games yesterday when they beat the Twins 7-5 to win their series in Minnesota. Twins starter Scott Baker looked to have the Royals under control as he carried a no-hit bid into the seventh, but KC reeled off five straight hits to start the inning. The Royals eventually plated five runs in the inning, which was highlighted by a three run bomb off the bat of Jose Guillen. Guillen, who went 2-for-4 in the contest with four RBI and a run scored, helped Kansas City garner their 14th win and stay atop the Tigers by a half game in the division standings. Chicago fell to 12-12 last night as the Rangers got a 5-1 win against them in Arlington. The White Sox had nine hits in the game, but their lone run came on a sacrifice fly by Jayson Nix in the seventh inning. Texas meanwhile, rapped out 10 hits and five earned runs off of John Danks in 5.1 innings. Chicago will send 35 year old Bartolo Colon to the hill in an attempt to avoid their third straight loss. Colon is having a decent season, sitting at 2-1 in four 2009 starts with a 4.15 ERA. The Dominican native had his best outing of the season in his last start (a 2-1 win versus the Mariners) as he gave up just four hits and no earned runs in seven innings of a work. Opposing Colon and the White Sox this evening is right hander Zack Greinke. Greinke is 5-0 on the year with a .50 ERA. The 25 year old gave up his first earned runs of the season in his last start, an 11-3 win against the Blue Jays at Kauffman Stadium. He allowed two earned in seven innings and struck out eight. Tonight's meeting will be the fourth this season between these two clubs. Kansas City took two out of three at Cellular Field to open the season.
