Joe Torre will look to get the Dodgers their eighth win in their last 11 games with 35 year old Hiroki Kuroda on the mound. Kuroda is 3-1 coming into this evening's contest with a 2.70 ERA. The Osaka, Japan native has walked just 12 while striking out 28 in his six starts, helping Los Angeles to a 5-1 record in that span.
The Diamondbacks will counter Kuroda with 26 year old right-hander Edwin Jackson. Jackson, who the team traded for this off-season, has been a bust thus far for Arizona, racking up a 1-4 record in seven starts to go along with a miserable 7.32 ERA. The former Dodgers draft pick did have one of his best starts of the season last time out, giving up six hits and three earned runs over seven innings in a 3-2 loss to the Brewers. The D-backs are just 1-6 when Jackson has taken the hill this year.
