Division rivals Los Angeles and Seattle are set to begin a four game series tonight at Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington. The Mariners just took two out of three from the Red Sox in Seattle while the Angels are coming off being swept by the Rangers in Arlington. Los Angeles Angels vs Seattle Mariners MLB Predictions at Bodog.com have the Angels listed as a -112 money line favorite in this evening's 10:10pm ET game. Los Angeles went to Texas having won six of their last seven games, but were decisively whipped by the Rangers, dropping all three games at Rangers Ballpark. The Angels averaged 3.7 runs per game in the series and yielded six per contest to Texas' formidable offense. Los Angeles now sits at 18-18, a tally good enough for second place in the AL West. They are 4.5 games behind Texas and just a game ahead of the third place Mariners (18-20, 9-8 at Safeco). Starting tonight for Mike Scioscia is right hander John Lackey. Lackey started the year on the DL and made his first appearance of the season on Saturday in Arlington. The 30 year old veteran was ejected from the game when he hit Ian Kinsler with just his second pitch. The short outing lead to a quick tunraround start in tonight's game. Lackey is 5-2 versus the Mariners in his last nine starts against them with a 4.21 ERA. The Abilene, Texas native allowed 71 hits and 27 earned runs in 57.2 innings in those nine appearances. Seattle will counter Lackey with former Angel Jarrod Washburn. Washburn has been extrmely solid for Manager Don Wakamatsu this year, garnering a 3-2 record in seven starts with a 3.11 ERA. However, the Mariners are 0-4 in the southpaw's last four starts. Current Angels are hitting a combined .250 against Washburn, who has struck out 33 and walked just 13 this season.
