by Matt Foust on Monday, May 18th, 2009

The New York Yankees will go for the coveted four game sweep tonight when they take on the Twins at Yankee Stadium. Last night the Yankees scored their third consecutive walk-off home run victory as Johnny Damon uncorked a solo bomb in the 10th inning. This evening's series finale is set to get underway at 7:05pm ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN.Minnesota Twins vs New York Yankees Baseball Predictions

Minnesota Twins vs New York Yankees Baseball Predictions at SBGglobal.com have the Yankees listed as a -160 money line favorite in tonight's game. The game total is set at 10 with the under being favored at -115 odds.

New York improved to 20-17 yesterday, getting their fifth consecutive win and the seventh in their last 10 games. They are third in the American League East standings and 4.5 games behind division leader Toronto. New York also improved their home record to 9-7 with the win.

Joe Girardi will look to veteran left hander Andy Pettitte to get the sweep of Minnesota tonight. Pettitte is 3-1 in seven starts this season with a 4.00 ERA; however, he has not pitched well at the new Yankee Stadium. While the Yanks are 2-1 in his three starts there, he has given up 27 hits and 12 earned runs in 18.2 innings of work at the facility.

Minnesota dropped their third straight game yesterday afternoon, working their record to a pedestrian 18-20 on the season. They are currently in third place in the American League Central and three games back of first place Detroit. The Twins road record fell to a dismal 4-11 when Damon's blast sailed over the wall in the bottom of the 10th.

Ron Gardenhire will send southpaw Glen Perkins to the hill tonight. Perkins is 1-2 in seven starts with a 4.27 ERA. Minnesota has lost three of Perkins last four appearances, but did get a win 14-10 versus the Tigers in his last outing. The 26 year old did little to help his squad, allowing  five hits and five earned runs in just over five innings on the mound.
