The Royals will attempt to get their fourth win under new manager Ned Yost, who took over for the dismissed Trey Hillman on May 14th. They will be doing so with Cy Young winner Zack Greinke on the hill. Greinke is 1-4 in eight starts this season, despite a 2.73 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. The 26 year old got his first win of the year last Thursday after giving up three earned runs and striking out eight in a 6-4 victory against division rival Cleveland.
Baltimore lost its third straight game last night to drop to 12-27 on the year. The Orioles are firmly entrenched in the American League East basement, sitting seven games back of the fourth place Red Sox and 15.5 games behind the first place Rays.
The Orioles will send 13 year veteran Kevin Millwood to the mound tonight. Millwood has had similar luck to Greinke in that he is 0-4 in eight starts with a solid 3.69 ERA. Ironically, Millwood had his worst outing of the season in his last start, but Baltimore got a 6-5 win inspite of the North Carolina native giving up seven hits and five earned runs in 6.2 innings.
