Longtime rivals New York and Baltimore meet for the fifth time this season as they butt head at Camden Yards this evening. Tonight's game, the first in a two game set, is scheduled to get underway at 7:05pm ET at Oriole Park. New York enters tonight's game coming off a 6-2 win at Tampa Bay, but the Yankees have certainly not played well of late. 
Joe Girardi's squad lost six in a row prior to last night's victory and its 4-10 record over the last 14 games has placed it two games back of the first place Rays in the American League East.
New York is probably anticipating an upward tick, though, with the win over Tampa Bay being followed by an abbreviated set with the Orioles. The Yankees owned Baltimore last season, going 12-4 against the O's, and that trend has continued in their four meetings this year.
New York is 4-0 against its AL East rival this season, outscoring the Orioles 34 to 15.
Veteran pticher Bartolo Colon will attempt to keep that streak intact as he makes his ninth start of the season this evening. Colon, who tossed three scoreless innings against Baltimore on April 14th, is 2-2 with a 3.74 ERA. The Dominican native earned his fourth quality start of the season in his last outing, allowing five hits and two earned runs over six innings in a 4-5 Yankee loss to the Red Sox.
Baltimore, which currently occupies the AL East cellar with a 19-21 record, will counter Colon with rookie sensation Zach Britton. Britton, a left hander out of Panorama, California, is 5-2 in eight starts with a 2.42 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. Britton, who has allowed one or fewer earned runs in five of his appearances this season, is coming off his best outing of the season. The 23 year old worked nine innings last Thursday, allowing three hits, zero earned runs, and no walks in a 2-1 extra innings win over the Mariners.
