Robertson has given up 14 hits and four earned runs in his last two trips to the mound (11.2 innings pitched), both of which resulted in Marlins' wins.
St. Louis fell to 23-18 with last night's setback, but they still trail the first place Reds by just a half game after Cincinnati lost 5-4 at Atlanta. The Cardinals have fallen on hard times of late, losing six of their last nine games, but they have a chance to get well as they welcome the 7-12 road Angels to town for a three game set tomorrow night.
Cy Young candidate Adam Wainwright will take the ball for St. Louis today. The five year veteran is 5-2 in eight starts with a 2.48 ERA and 0.98 WHIP. Wainwright suffered through his worst outing of the season in his last start, giving up seven hits and four earned runs (six innings pitched) in a 3-4 loss at Cincinnati. However, one should not expect a repeat performance from the Georgia native today as he is 3-0 in three appearances at Busch Stadium this year with a 1.96 ERA and .205 batting average against.
