MLB Pick: Boston Red Sox vs Seattle Mariners The Boston Red Sox are playing like the Boston Celtics, they can’t win on the road. Tonight the Bosox are in Seattle to take on the Mariners at Safeco Field. Oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com have Boston as -110 moneyline favs over Seattle +100 with the over/under listed at 8 ½ runs. The Bosox dropped three straight against Oakland and they’ve lost eight of their last ten road games for a 10-17 SU record. They’ve averaged 4.00 RPG during these losses.  The Red Sox got outscored 17-6 during a three-game sweep, which concluded with a 6-3 loss Sunday. David Ortiz's first-inning homer was the only extra-base hit for Boston, which managed only one hit of any kind in Saturday night's 3-0 defeat. Pitching for the Bosox tonight is Bartolo Colon (RHP) (1-0, 3.60 ERA) who allowed two runs through five innings in a 6-3 win over K.C. Colon has plenty of experience against Seattle, going 12-10 with a 4.40 ERA in 26 starts. He has thrived at Safeco in particular, as he is 6-0 with a 1.94 ERA in seven starts there since the start of the 2003 season.

The Mariners are glad to be home after losing six straight road games where they were outscored 27-61. They are 7-20 SU on the road, the worst in the league. At home they aren’t much better, they are 11-13 SU at home where they average 4.93 RPG. Pitching from the mound tonight is Felix Hernandez (RHP) (2-4, 3.34 ERA) who had a no-decision last outing after pitching 6 innings, allowing seven hits and two runs during a 3-2 win. Hernandez is 2-0 with a 2.91 ERA in three career starts versus Boston. Adrian Beltre leads his team with 10 homers while Jose Lopez has the hottest bat with a .299 batting average. The Mariners offense is just as bad as their defense.
