The Chicago White Sox will go for the road sweep tonight against the Angels in Anaheim, California. This evening's ball game is set to get underway at 10:05pm ET at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Chicago White Sox vs Los Angeles Angels Baseball Predicitons at BetUS.com have the Angels listed as a -200 money line favorite to win tonight's series finale.
The White Sox, who have won six of their last 10, are 21-24 on the year and in fourth place in the American League Central division. If Chicago can pull off the win tonight, it will be their first series sweep of the 2009 season. Ozzie Guillen's squad, which is five games behind the first place Tigers, is 9-14 on the road.
The White Sox will send right handed hurler Gavin Floyd to the mound tonight. Floyd is 3-4 in nine starts with a 6.54 ERA. The 26 year old looked good in his last start, working eight innings, giving up just two hits and no earned runs. However, in his three previous outings (all losses), Floyd gave up 24 hits and 20 earned runs in 15 innings of work.
The Angels, who fell to 23-22 with yesterday's loss, are in second place in the American League West and four games behind the surprising Rangers. Last night's defeat, the Angels third in their last four games, dropped Los Angeles home record to a mediocre 12-10 on the year.
Three year veteran Jered Weaver will counter the Sox' Floyd in this evening's battle. Weaver has had ace type stuff this year, despite sporting a pedestrian 3-2 record. In nine starts he has pitched a total of 60.2 innings, giving up 49 hits and 17 earned runs (2.52 ERA).
Los Angeles has lost two of Weaver's last three starts, but they did get the win in his last outing, a 3-1 victory at Dodger Stadium.
