Twenty-one year old Clayton Kershaw will take the hill for the Dodgers this afternoon. The left handed hurler has been a little bit up and down this year as his 2-3 record would indicate. Kershaw has pitched a total of 50 innings in nine starts, allowing 36 hits and 24 earned runs while walking 28 and striking out 51. His ERA is a pedestrian 4.32, but opponents are hitting just .207 against him. 

The Rockies dropped to 18-27 overall and 7-12 at Coors Field in yesterday's loss. They are in last place in the National League West and trail the Dodgers by 13 games. Only seven teams have allowed more runs than the 235 that the Rockies have given up.

Colorado will look to Ubaldo Jimenez to halt their recent skid as they have lost four of their last 10 games. Jimenez, like Kershaw, has been somewhat erratic this season, garnering a 3-5 record in nine starts. The three year veteran is sporting a 4.25 ERA in nine starts and hitters are posting a .255 average against him.
