The Marlins wasted a solid pitching performance from starter Nate Robertson last night as the veteran allowed just two hits 
and no earned runs over six innings in the 3-7 loss. Florida left eight runners on base, but it was the bullpen that really spoiled things, giving up six earned runs in three innings of work.
The game two setback brought the Marlins record to 24-23 on the year and dropped them to third place in the NL East, where they are three games behind Philadelphia and a half game back of the second place Braves.
Atlanta made the most of its seven hits last night, plating seven runs to back a strong outing from Tommy Hanson (six innings pitched, two earned runs allowed). The win improved the Braves record to 24-22 and left them just 2.5 games back of the first place Phillies in the division standings.
Getting the start tonight for Atlanta is 11 year veteran Tim Hudson. Hudson, who returned late last year from Tommy John surgery, has been none the worse for wear this season as he comes into tonight's outing with a 5-1 record and 2.09 ERA in nine starts. The right-handed hurler has been brilliant in the month of May, going 4-0 (Braves 4-1) in five starts with a 1.26 ERA and .185 batting average against.
The Marlins will counter Hudson with the up and down Ricky Nolasco. Nolasco is 4-3 in nine starts this season with a 4.50 ERA, but his numbers at Sun Life Stadium are much worse. The 27 year old is 1-2 in four home starts with 6.14 ERA and .318 batting average against. Nolasco is coming off his worst outing of the year, a 0-8 loss against the White Sox where he gave up 10 hits and eight earned runs over 5.1 innings.
