The Los Angeles Dodgers start a nine game home stand tonight as they face their NL West rivals, the Arizona Diamondbacks. Arizona Diamondbacks vs Los Angeles Dodgers MLB Predictions at Sportsbook.com have the Dodgers listed as a -165 money line favorite in the division battle. This evening's game is scheduled to get underway at 10:10pm ET at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. The Dodgers improved to 35-17 yesterday by earning an 8-2 victory against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. The win prevented Los Angeles from losing the series 1-3, and allowed them to come home winners of five of their last seven games. Joe Torre's squad, which is 18-5 at Dodger Stadium, has an 8.5 game lead in the National League West. Unfortunately for LA's competition, the Dodgers get a little bit healthier tonight as Hideki Kuroda returns from the DL (strained oblique) to make his second start of the season. Kuroda, who was 9-10 last year in 31 starts with a 3.73 ERA, won his first start this year, a 4-1 Dodgers victory at San Diego on April 6th. The Diamondbacks begin a seven game road swing tonight after earning a split in their four game home set with the Braves. Arizona is 22-29 on the season, but a surprising 10-10 in road action. Their record has earned them a fourth place position in the NL West standings; they are 12.5 games behind the Dodgers entering this evening's ball game. Starting tonight for Arizona is converted reliever Billy Buckner. Buckner has been anything but impressive this season coming out of the bullpen. In three relief appearances (four innings) Buckner has given up seven hits and seven earned runs for a 15.75 ERA. He has been much better as a starter, garnering a 1-1 record in two games with a 4.38 ERA.
