MLB Betting: Chicago Cubs vs San Diego PadresThe Chicago Cubs have won eight-straight games and will be looking for another notch in their streak when they play the San Diego Padres in the second of their three-game series at Petco Park Tuesday night. The Cubs have won four of five game played against San Diego this year and will look for another win on the arm of RHP Jason Marquis(2-3 4.98 ERA). LHP Wilfredo Ledezma (0-2, 4.25) will be looking for his first win since replacing injured ace Jake Peavy in the Padres rotation. MLB Betting oddsmakers at online sportsbook SportsBetting.com currently have the Cubs listed as 120-moneyline favorites versus the Padres, while the game's total is sitting at 8½ (-130).

The left-handed Ledezma enjoyed his best outing since moving into the starting rotation when Jake Peavy came down with a strained right elbow. Ledezma, who allowed a combined nine runs over his previous two starts, was considerably sharper on May 29 against the Nationals, allowing one run on two hits over five innings. Ledezma had three walks, and wildness occasionally gets him in trouble, though it didn't against Washington. He struck out seven in the game. Ledezma has no recent history against the Cubs.

Marquis did not get a decision in his last start against the Rockies. The right-hander was pulled with the bases loaded in the sixth and a 3-1 lead, but pinch-hitter Willy Taveras hit a single off Neal Cotts that first baseman Derrek Lee deflected, and two runs scored. For the game, Marquis gave up seven hits and two walks over 5 1/3 innings and struck out three. He has one win in his last seven starts, and has finished the sixth inning once in that stretch. Marquis is 3-3 when starting against San Diego with an ERA of 3.79 and a WHIP of 1.389.His team's record is 4-3 (+0.1 units) in these starts. The OVER is 3-4. (-1.2 units)

Jim Edmonds went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in, as the Cubs clipped the Padres 7-6 on Monday night.

Chicago won as -200 MLB Betting road favorites as the game played over the 7.5-run total listed by sportsbooks.

Carlos Zambrano allowed three runs over five innings to get the win, as the Cubs' ace helped his own cause at the plate by going 3-for-3 with a RBI for Chicago.

Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and four runs batted in for San Diego, while losing pitcher Cha Seung Baek gave up four runs over 4 1-3 innings for the Padres.
