Of course, he is still adjusting to National League lineups, which also means he hasn't seen much of the Padres. In two career appearances vs. San Diego, Santana is 1-1 with a 3.55 ERA.
Wolf looked good in his last start on June 1 against the Giants at AT&T Park, allowing just four hits over six innings. Unfortunately for him, one of the hits he allowed was a sixth-inning solo home run to Aaron Rowand. Wolf had command of his fastball and breaking ball against the Giants, finishing with five strikeouts and one walk. He was 9-4 with a 3.44 ERA in 25 career starts against the Mets.
The Padres scored in the bottom of the ninth on Thursday, as they defeated the Mets 2-1. The Padres won the game as +105 underdogs, while the three runs fell UNDER the posted over/under (8).
Tadahito Iguchi drove in one run and finished 3-for-4 at the plate for the Padres. Trevor Hoffman tossed the ninth to collect his first win.
