Mariners at White Sox MLB Odds June 6 2011

by Reno Gold on Monday, June 6th, 2011

The Chicago White Sox open a home series with the Seattle Mariners who are visiting Cellular Field for a three-game set beginning Monday (8:10 pm ET). Losers of two straight games, the White Sox reside in third-place, seven games off the pace in the American League Central Division behind Cleveland and Detroit. The Mariners are playing better than expected and currently hold down second-place in the AL West 2.5-games behind the first-place Texas Rangers. John Danks will toe the rubber for the White Sox while Michael Pineda, a rookie, counters for the Mariners.

With Danks and Pineda listed as Monday's starters, sports-shops list Chicago as a slight -115 MLB Odds moneyline favorite with a posted (over/under) total of 8-runs. Mariners backers will be giving -105 ML odds for a SU win. At -1 1/2 on the runline, Mariners' bettors are getting +150 odds while the Sox, at +1 1/2-runline, are giving -170. Some sportsbooks are listing today's game as a toss-up offering -110 ML odds on both teams.

Baseball bettors should have a good time handicapping Monday's game between the Mariners and White Sox. Chicago's scheduled starter John Danks has yet to win a game in 2011 sporting a 0-8 record to go with a 5.25 ERA. In eleven starts this season, Danks has been the loser in eight-straight. Another tid-bit of information handicappers will want to know is Danks starting record of 1-10.

The Mariners seem to have a distinct pitching advantage starting out as they counter with Pineda who's having a great rookie year; currently owning an impressive 2.30 ERA to go along with his 6-2 won-loss record. Pineda leads all AL rookies in ERA and strikeouts (73). The youngster is coming off a good outing his last time out giving up a single run in seven innings, but getting a no-decision against Baltimore.

Odds-makers across the off shore board, list the White Sox as -125 MLB Odds favorites to win this series (2-of-3 games) with Seattle.
