The 2011 Men's College World Series gets underway at brand new TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb., Saturday when former U.S. President George W. Bush throws out the first pitch at 2 pm ET. Following the ceremonial first pitch, six-seed Vanderbilt will play three-seed North Carolina to open championship play. Saturday night (7 pm) two-seed Florida plays seven-seed Texas. On Sunday top-seed Virginia plays California at 2 pm and defending champion South Carolina, a four seed, takes on Texas A&M.
Vanderbilt is a -180 CWS Odds favorite at most offshore sports shops for Saturday's opener versus the Tar Heels with a 9-run total. Tar Heels' backers will be getting +150 odds as moneyline underdogs. Run-line prices on Vandy at -1 1/2 are -120 while North Carolina backers at +1 1/2 are getting +150.
The Gators are listed as -180 moneyline favorites for Saturday's nightcap with an 8 1/2-run total. Longhorns' backers will be getting +150 odds playing the underdog. Run-line prices list Florida at – 1 1/2 getting +110 and Texas backers at +1 1/2 paying -140.
