Slowey, who is 7-4 in 13 starts with a 3.84 ERA, is coming off his worst start of the season. The Texas native gave up nine hits and five earned runs over 4.2 innings in a 3-7 loss to the Braves last weekend.
Philadelphia will counter Slowey with former World Series MVP Cole Hamels. The left hander enters tonight's proceedings with a 6-5 record and 3.74 ERA in 13 starts. Hamels, who has a 2.81 ERA at Citizens Bank Park this year, worked seven innings, giving up five hits and one earned run (eight strikeouts) in a 5-3 win at Boston his last time out.
