Joe Torre will look to 21 year old Clayton Kershaw to send his squad out of town with a game three win. The southpaw has had the typical ups and downs of a young pitcher, but he has taken far more lumps in his road starts. The Dallas native possesses a 6.75 road ERA and the Dodgers are just 2-4 when he takes the hill in an opposing venue.
The Angels, who are just a half game back of the American League West leading Texas Rangers, fell to 36-30 with yesterday's defeat. Mike Scioscia's squad is still 18-13 at home and they are one of the hottest teams in the league over the last 10 games, sporting a 7-3 record in that span.
Veteran right-hander John Lackey will make his eighth start of the season tonight for the Angels. The Texas native has been anything but his former self to this point as he is just 2-2 with a 6.10 ERA. Lackey has made just one start this year at Angel Stadium and the result was a 5-2 loss to the Mariners. The 30 year old went seven innings in that game, but gave up 10 hits and five earned runs.
Tonight's first pitch is scheduled for 8:05pm ET. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball.
