MLB Picks: The Twins and Brewers continue their neighboring state tussle tonight in Milwaukee. Minnesota got the better of things last night, scoring a 7-3 game one win at the expense of Brewers hurler Jeff Suppan. BetUS.com sees things going a similar way this evening as the Twins are listed as a -120 moneyline favorite in their MLB Picks: Twins vs Brewers MLB Odds - June 24, 2009. Yesterday the Minnesota Twins got their sixth win in their last 10 games, beating the Brewers 7-3 at Miller Park. The victory brought Ron Gardenhire's club to 36-36 on the season and it improved their dismal road mark to 12-21. They are alone in second place in the American League Central and four games behind the Detroit Tigers. The Twins got a stellar effort from their bullpen last night (four innings, one hit allowed, four strikeouts, no walks) and they roughed up Jeff Suppan for nine hits and four earned runs in five innings to get the easy win. Joe Crede and Carlos Gomez combined to go 5-for-10 with five RBI and three runs scored. Oklahoma native Nick Blackburn will toe the rubber for Minnesota this evening in Miller Park. Blackburn is having a solid second season in the majors as he has produced a 6-2 record in 14 starts with a 3.09 ERA. In eight road appearances, Blackburn is 3-2 with a 3.46 ERA; Minnesota is 3-5 in those outings. The Twins have lost the 27 year old's last two away starts by a combined two runs, but Blackburn worked 15 innings and allowed just 12 hits and four earned runs in the defeats. The right-handed Blackburn is coming off his best outing of the season, a 5-1 home win against the Pirates where he went nine innings and allowed just six hits and one earned run. Milwaukee dropped their fourth straight ball game yesterday and their record fell to 37-33 as a result. They are now two games behind the first place St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Central and just a game and a half ahead of the third place Cubs. The loss brought the Brew Crew's home record to 17-15 on the year. Tonight Milwaukee will look to veteran pitcher Braden Looper to get the club back on the winning track. Looper is 5-4 in 14 starts this year with a 5.21 ERA. He has made eight starts at Miller Park (Milwaukee 5-3), going 3-1 with a 4.31 ERA. However, the Twins could be a potential bad matchup for Looper as he has yielded 16 home runs this season (tied for fourth most in the majors), while Minnesota ranks 12th in the league with 77 dingers. This evening's contest is scheduled to get underway at 8:05pm ET.
