TCU vs UCLA 2010 College World Series Odds & Preview: The TCU Horned Frogs staved off elimination Wednesday night to earn a shot at a rematch with UCLA Friday afternoon at Rosenblatt Stadium. TCU will counter with freshman Matt Purke who will be making his 20th appearance and 18th start. Purke has a 1-0 record in the College World Series after handing Florida State an 8-1 loss in the World Series opener on June 19. On the season, the left-hander is 15-0 with a 3.03 ERA. In 110 innings pitched, he has fanned 140 batters and limited opponents to a .216 batting average against.
The Horned Frogs are coming off a dramatic come-from-behind victory over Florida State in an elimination game Wednesday night. Matt Curry hit a grand slam as part of an eight-run inning that turned a 7-3 deficit into an 11-7 TCU lead. Kaleb Merck closed the door in the final two innings to get Erik Miller (1-1) his first career win.
