After losing the first of a three game inter-league set to the Colorado Rockies on Friday, New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi is expected to break out the big gun for Saturday's game against the Rox, left-hander C.C.Sabathia (9-4, 3.39 ERA). The Yanks have lost two straight and trail the Boston Red Sox by a game in the American League East so getting a win today is vital. The Rockies will counter with a veteran of their own in Aaron Cook (0-2, 4.67 ERA). The right-hander is looking for his first win since coming off the 60 day DL.
Oddsmakers list the Yankees as heavy -250 MLB Odds favorites in this one with a 9-run total (over/under). Rockies backers will be getting +210 odds as a visiting underdog. Run-line prices for this game are set the same (+/- 1 1/2) at -110.
Cook is still searching for his first win of the season after coming of the 60-day DL on June 8. He gave up four runs on eight hits over six innings in a loss to the Tigers on Sunday.
Sabathia wasn't pleased with his last outing other than it being a win over the Cubs. He allowed four runs in seven innings and had trouble throwing inside, as well as with the command of his changeup and two-seamer. He's received 8.68 runs per game.

The Rockies were 4-2 winners in Friday's series opener at Yankee Stadium. Rockies backers cashed as +120 MLB Odds underdogs while the six combined runs fell UNDER the 9-run total.
