Feldman got bombed for 12 hits and five earned runs (six innings pitched) in his last start, a 6-5 win against the Pirates.
The Angels, which have owned the AL West the last few seasons, come into this evening's ball game with a 43-35 record. Los Angeles is 4-2 on its current nine game home stand, leading to a 5.5 game lead over the third place Athletics.
Angels skipper Mike Scioscia will look to cool off the Rangers tonight by sending veteran righty Joel Pineiro to the hill. Pineiro's season numbers are not that impressive (7-6 record and 4.21 ERA), but he has been tremendous of late, allowing just 14 hits and three earned runs in his last 24 innings pitched. The Puerto Rican has also been lights out at Angel Stadium, going 4-2 at his home park with 2.25 ERA and .217 batting average.
Los Angeles is 6-1 in Pineiro's last seven home starts and 5-1 in his last six starts overall.
