MLB Picks: The Los Angeles Angels will go for their seventh straight win tonight as they face off against the Texas Rangers in game two of their three game set in Arlington. The Angels took game one 5-2 last night, but online bookmaker SBGglobal.com has them listed as a slight -108 moneyline underdog in their MLB Picks: Angels vs Rangers MLB Betting Odds - June 30, 2009. Los Angeles, who swept the Diamondbacks in Arizona prior to their arrival in Texas, improved to 42-32 last night after pounding Rangers starter Vicente Padilla for 10 hits and five earned runs in five innings. The win brought Mike Scioscia's club to 22-17 on the road this season. The Angels are now 2.5 games ahead of Texas in the American League West standings. Joe Saunders will, once again, take the mound in what can best be described as a personal house of horrors for the left-handed hurler. Over the past three seasons, the 28 year old Saunders is 0-3 in three starts at Rangers Ball Park with a 9.77 ERA. This will be the four year veteran's second appearance at the stadium this season, but he may still be trying to get over the first outing. Saunders gave up eight hits and seven earned runs in just five innings in a 10-8 loss. Saunders, despite his woes in Texas, is having a terrific year. Through 15 starts, the Virginia Tech product is 8-4 with a 3.66 ERA. The Rangers, who held the lead in the AL West for most of May and June, have been heading in the wrong direction of late. Last night's loss was their third straight and they have lost seven of their last 10 games to relinquish the division lead to the Angels. In spite of their recent troubles, Ron Washington's squad is still 40-35 on the year and 23-17 within the confines of Rangers Ball Park. Starting tonight for Texas is right-handed pitcher Scott Feldman. Feldman has been a solid performer for the Rangers this year, producing a 5-2 record in 12 starts with a 4.06 ERA. The 26 year old Hawaiian native is 1-1 in six home starts with a 3.83 ERA. The Rangers are 7-3 in his last 10 appearances but have lost three of his last four outings. Feldman presided over a 3-0 win against the Angels earlier this season, going six innings and giving up just four hits and no earned runs. This evening's game is scheduled to get underway at 8:05pm ET.
