MLB Picks: The Texas Rangers will go for the sweep tonight against Tampa Bay at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The Rangers have scored a combined 15 runs in the first two games of the series to put a halt to what was a streaking Rays squad. However, online bookmaker Sportsbook.com is looking for a Tampa Bay rebound tonight as the Rays are listed at -129 on the moneyline in their MLB Picks: Rays vs Rangers MLB Betting Odds – July 5, 2009. Texas barreled to a 12-4 game two win last night, recording four doubles, one triple, and two home runs off the Rays pitching staff. The Rangers were particularly hard on starter David Price. Price gave up three hits, five walks, and six earned runs in a little over an inning of work. The easy win improved Texas record to 44-35 and kept them in a first place tie with the Angels in the American League West standings.

The Rangers, who have won four games in a row and seven of their last 10 contests, are 27-17 at home this season.

Starting tonight for Manager Ron Washington is converted reliever Scott Feldman. The 26 year old Feldman has been more than solid since being shifted to the rotation, garnering a 6-2 record in 13 starts with a 3.39 ERA. Feldman has made nine appearances at Rangers Ballpark this season. Opponents are hitting just .237 against him there and he has produced at 2-1 record to go along with a 3.91 ERA.

Tampa Bay dropped their third straight ball game last night to bring their record to 44-38. Despite the recent skid, the Rays have still won seven of their last 10 games and trail the first place Red Sox by five in the American League East. The Rays, who have scored a league high 447 runs, are just 18-25 away from Tropicana Field this year.

Starting tonight for Tampa Bay is Fresno State product Matt Garza. Garza is having another quality season for Manager Joe Maddon as he is 6-5 in 16 starts with a 3.45 ERA. The 25 year old has been slighty worse on the road, going 2-3 with a 3.80 ERA. Tampa Bay has managed just two wins in Garza's seven road outings; however, the California native is 3-1 in four starts versus the Rangers over the past three seasons with a sterling 1.98 ERA.

Tonight's game is scheduled to get underway at 8:05pm ET at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas. The game three showdown will be broadcast live on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball.
