MLB Predictions: Seattle Mariners vs Cleveland IndiansMLB Predictions Preview … The Cleveland Indians will send their ace lefthander Cliff Lee (12-2, 2.31 ERA) to the mound against the Seattle Mariners Sunday afternoon with hopes of picking up a win in the rubber game of the three-game weekend series at Safeco Field in Seattle. The Mariners, looking for a home series win will counter with right hand pitcher Carlos Silva (4-11, 5.46 ERA).

MLB Predictions Betting Line … Oddsmakers at online sports wagering leader Bodog (Bodoglife.com) currently have the Indians listed as 135-moneyline favorites versus the Mariners, while the game's total is sitting at 8. Mariners backers are getting +125 ml odds as a home underdog.

Lee wasn't lights out in his last outing, but he was good enough to keep the Rays scoreless in six innings of work. The left-hander never had a 1-2-3 inning in his 12th win of the year, but he allowed just one baserunner in each frame, facing four batters each time. It capped a surprising 12-2 first-half start, which helped earn his first-ever nomination to the AL All-Star team. In his one start against the Mariners this season, Lee went six-plus innings and allowed three runs in the winning effort. All-time against Seattle, Lee has been strong, going 6-1 with a 3.90 ERA in nine starts.

Maybe now the pitcher Seattle broke the bank for is starting to live up to the expectations. After a mechanical change a couple weeks ago, Silva has had two solid outings. His most recent one came in a no-decision at Kansas City on Sunday. He went six innings, allowing just two runs while striking out five. Silva has now given up just two runs in consecutive starts after giving up five runs on July 3. It was after that game when Silva made the mechanical change.

The Indians had a six-run rally in the third inning en route to a 9-6 win over the Mariners on Saturday, at EVEN odds. The 15 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (9.5).

Shin-Soo Choo hit a two-run homer for the Indians, and finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Jeremy Sowers allowed four win over six innings in the win.

Ichiro Suzuki had two hits for the Mariners, including a two-run blast. Miguel Batista surrendered eight runs over two innings as he fell to 4-11 on the season. The Mariners were -110 favorites in that game.
