Mariners vs. White Sox MLB Odds & Picks: In a tight race in the American League Central with Minnesota, the Chicago White Sox have enjoyed having the Mariners in town for a four game series. After taking care of business in the first three games, the White Sox will look to sweep them all when they play at U.S. Cellular Field tonight. The Sox will start Freddy Garcia in this one. The White Sox right-hander has a 4.75 ERA to go along with a 9-4 record. Seattle will counter with David Pauley. The right-hander is 0-2 this season with a 2.70 ERA. Garcia has been a pleasant surprise as a dependable back-of-the-rotation starter this season. Last time out, however, was a forgettable outing for the righty. He'll try to rebound after surrendering five earned runs in 1 1/3 innings vs. the A's. Pauley, brought into the rotation as a spot starter, has shown enough to keep himself around. In three starts, he's held opponents to just five earned runs. The next task is getting deeper into games, as he hasn't gone farther than six innings yet. Gordon Beckham hit a two-run homer in helping the White Sox defeat the Mariners 6-5 on Wednesday, as -170 favorites. The White Sox won that game as -170 favorites, and the 11 runs made it OVER the posted 8.5 total. Matt Thornton picked up the win in relief for the White Sox, and Bobby Jenks collected his 21st save. Jamey Wright gave up the winning run in relief, and was saddled with the Mariners loss. The White Sox need a win in this one to hold off the Twins. The Mariners only need the season to end. Take the Sox -179 or the OVER nine. Bet on sports at online sportsbook Bodog.com and receive a 10% Deposit Bonus and start winning today! |
