MLB Picks: The Phillies and Giants open a three game set tonight at AT&T Park in San Francisco. The Giants are fresh off a home sweep against the Pirates while Philadelphia just took two out of three versus the Diamondbacks in Phoenix. San Francisco closed to within seven games of the Dodgers yesterday in the National League West after getting a 1-0 game three win against Pittsburgh. Zach Duke and Matt Cain were both brilliant in the outing, but Cain was the superior performer, going nine innings and allowing just three hits and no earned runs. The victory was the Giants 34th at home and 55th of the season, making them the top wild card seed in the National League. Jonathan Sanchez, who pitched a no-hitter in his last outing at AT&T Park, will get the start for San Francisco this evening. The 26 year old is 3-9 in 16 outings with a 5.15 ERA; however, he is a far better 3-1 at home with a 3.27 ERA. The Phillies, despite being blanked 0-4 yesterday in their series finale at Arizona, are 31-16 on the road. They are 58-41 overall and six games ahead of the Marlins in the NL East division. Philadelphia has won four of their last five and seven of their last 10 games heading into this evening's nightcap. Charlie Manuel will call on Rodrigo Lopez to take the ball against the Giants tonight. Lopez will be making just his fourth start of the season, but he has been solid in his limited time in the regular rotation. The 33 year old Mexican is 3-0 with a 3.09 ERA and has walked six while striking out 15. The Phillies are 4-0 in his four starting appearances. Tonight's East versus West clash is set to get underway at 10:15pm ET at AT&T Park.
