Yankees at Rays MLB Odds & Picks – July 31 2010

by Reno Gold on Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Yankees at Rays MLB Odds & Picks: If Tampa Bay can pull off a win versus the Yankees Saturday night, they will join them atop the American League standings. The Rays pulled to within a single game of New York with their 3-2 victory on Friday. The Rays will send right-hander Matt Garza to the mound to start this game. Garza is 11-5 with a 4.06 ERA. Countering for New York is right-hander Javier Vazquez who is 9-7 with a 4.54 ERA.

BetUS.com has the game between Tampa Bay lined as a slight -120 moneyline favorite with an 8 1/2 run total. Yankees backers are getting EVEN moneyline odds.

Garza threw the first no-hitter in franchise history Monday, walking just one batter and striking out six while facing the minimum 27 against the injury-riddled Tigers. Garza said he was off mechanically, but he was still untouchable.

Vazquez kept up his strong run by beating the Indians on July 26 at Cleveland, hurling seven innings of two-run ball. Since beginning the year 1-4 in six starts, Vazquez is 8-3 with a 3.16 ERA.

Tampa Bay has covered the moneyline with eight SU victories in a row including Friday's 3-2 win over the Yankees, covering as a -105 favorite. The five runs scored fell under the posted nine run total.

It's hard to follow up on a no-hitter. That's why we like the Yankees to pull off a slight upset at the Trop getting EVEN odds.
