Toronto got its seventh win in its last 10 games with last night's victory, improving to 55-51 in the process. The Blue Jays, which are 28-29 on the road this season, are still 11.5 games out of first, though, and they trail three teams in the Wild Card race.
Toronto will look to keep things rolling with lefty Ricky Romero on the hill. Romero is 8-7 in 21 starts this year with a 3.46 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. The Cal State Fullerton product got a win his last time out, limiting the Orioles to two earned runs over 7.2 innings in an 8-2 victory. Romero has been abysmal in two starts against the Yankees this season, allowing 12 hits and 10 earned runs over 10.2 innings for an 8.44 ERA.
