Texas appeared to be cruising to an easy 2-0 win last night, but reliever C.J. Wilson got shelled for four hits and three runs in the bottom of the ninth to give the A's a 3-2 victory. The gut-wrenching loss was just the fourth in the last 12 games for the Rangers and it brought their overall record to 59-45. Ron Washington's club is now 4.5 games back of the Angels in the AL West standings.

Southpaw Derek Holland has been tabbed for the start tonight by Washington. Holland, who started the year in the bullpen, will be making his 11th start of the season. The Newark, Ohio native is 2-5 with a 5.59 ERA since being moved to the rotation. He is 1-2 in 12 road appearances with a 4.25 ERA.

Last night's come-from-behind win was just the eighth victory for the Athletics since the All-Star break. The beleaguered unit is now 45-60 on the year and 19 games behind Los Angeles in the AL West. Oakland is 24-27 at home this season.

Starting tonight for the A's is 23 year old left-hander Gio Gonzalez. The Florida native is 2-2 in six 2009 starts with a 7.36 ERA. Gonzalez has worked a total of 29.1 innings as a starter, giving up 40 hits, 15 walks, and 24 earned runs. He is 0-2 in three outings at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum with a gargantuan 14.29 ERA.

Tonight's American League West clash is set to get underway at 10:05pm ET in Oakland.
