Chicago and Detroit split yesterday's double header as the White Sox took game one by a score of 12-2 while the Tigers 
rebounded with a 7-1 victory in the nightcap. Chicago slammed Rick Porcello for eight hits and seven earned runs in the opener, chasing the second year performer after 4.1 innings. The White Sox finished the game with 15 hits, including four by shortstop Alexei Ramirez.
The Tigers bounced back in the evening behind a solid outing from veteran hurler Jeremy Bonderman, who gave up just five hits and one earned run in 6.2 innings of work. Detroit also had plenty of offense to back up Bonderman as Johnny Damon and Brennan Boesch combined for four hits and four RBI.
Despite the split, the White Sox (60-46) increased their division lead to 1.5 games over the Twins, which fell 6-4 at Tampa Bay. The Tigers remain seven games back of Chicago and 5.5 behind the Minnesota with a 53-53 record.
Getting the start tonight for Chicago is former Tiger Edwin Jackson, who the White Sox acquired from the Diamondbacks over the weekend. Jackson returns to the American League with a 6-10 record and 5.16 ERA in 21 starts. The right hander has not allowed fewer than four earned runs in his last five starts.
Detroit will counter its former mate with three year veteran Armando Galarraga, who is 3-3 in 12 starts with a 4.28 ERA. Galarraga is 1-2 in six appearances versus the White Sox with a 4.78 ERA.
