MLB Betting Preview: LA Dodgers at SF GiantsThe Los Angeles Dodgers continue their push to make the playoffs in San Francisco on Friday against the Giants. The Dodgers go with their most consistent pitcher of late, Chad Billingsley on Friday. Brad Penny has been getting all the press but Billingsley has actually been better. He comes into the game at 10-4 with an ERA of 3.30. The Giants counter with Jonathan Sanchez who is 1-3 and has an ERA of 5.27. SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking the favored Dodgers on the Road.

SBG Global Opening Line: Dodgers -132, Total 8.5 Over (-115)

Billingsley was great in his last outing against San Diego, throwing seven scoreless innings while striking out nine. That was Billingsley’s third straight win. Sanchez allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings in his last start and is expected to get a lot of work down the stretch for the Giants. The game opens a six-game homestand for the Giants, who play Arizona after the Dodgers leave. San Francisco has lost 11 consecutive home games to Los Angeles dating back to last season, including six this year. The good news for the Giants is that they have won six of their last seven games at AT&T Park while dropping their home ERA to 3.84.

The Dodgers’ Russell Martin was doing well enough to play on Thursday even with his sprained left knee. "He came in today and looked anxious to play," said manager Grady Little. "We put him through a few exercises, and he looked perfectly fine. If there had been any doubt, we would have given him another day." Little went with a lineup that included a lot of young players on Thursday. Right fielder Matt Kemp, catcher Martin, first baseman James Loney, third baseman Andy LaRoche and second baseman Tony Abreu are all young. Loney, LaRoche and Abreu are rookies. Abreu was giving Jeff Kent a day off. The Dodgers are 11-5 when LaRoche starts at third and 7-3 with Ramon Martinez starting there.

SBG Global Current Line: Dodgers -130, Total 8.5 Over (-115)
