Mike Lowell drove in two runs to lift the Red Sox, while Josh Beckett allowed seven hits and two runs over five innings for the win. 

 In other AL action, the Minnesota Twins travel to Kansas City to begin a three-game set with the Royals tonight. On the mound for the Twins is RHP Boof Bonser (6-12, 4.95 ERA) while the Royals counter with RHP Billy Buckner (0-00, 5.40 ERA) Oddsmakers currently have the Twins listed as -112money line favorites versus the Royals, while the game's total is sitting at 9½.

The Cleveland Indians will be trying to extend a winning streak on Monday when they take on the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field. The Indians will pin their hopes on the pitching of  RHP Fausto Carmona (15-8, 3.27 ERA) while RHP Gavin Floyd (1-2, 6.12 ERA) goes for the White Sox. Oddsmakers currently have the Indians listed as -167-money line favorites versus the White Sox, while the game's total is sitting at 9½.

The Oakland Athletics invade Safeco Field in Seattle to begin a three-game set with the Mariners with game-one tonight. RHP Joe Blanton (12-9, 3.81 ERA) will trot to the mound for the A’s while the Mariners counter with LHP Horacio Ramieres (8-5, 6.45 ERA). Oddsmakers currently have the Mariners listed as-112-money line favorites versus the Athletics, while the game's total is sitting at 9½.
