Four starts into his return from Tommy John elbow reconstruction surgery, Hudson finds himself still searching for consistent control. Still, two blown saves are all that separate him from winning each of his first three starts.
Pelfrey was battered around in his last start against the Braves, giving up a career-high nine earned runs in 4 1/3 innings in an 11-0 loss. In his only start against Atlanta at Citi Field, though, Pelfrey limited the Braves to two runs on six hits in seven innings. The lefties in the Braves' lineup have excelled in their careers against Pelfrey, as Adam LaRoche is 4-for-4, Brian McCann is 11-for-23 with a home run and Chipper Jones is 6-for-15 with two long balls.
