MLB Picks - Twins at White Sox MLB Odds: With 12 games left in the regular season, the Minnesota Twins need to win the American League Central Division if they have any plans on making the playoffs. The Twins have a legitimate shot at winning their division, only 2 1/2 games behind Detroit, but have no chance on making the playoffs as the AL Wild Card as they sit in fourth place 11 1/2 games behind the Red Sox who virtually have lock on the wild card slot.

Winners in seven of their last ten games, the Twins will try to pick up another win at Chicago today when they play the White Sox in the second of a three games set at U.S. Cellular Field. Minnesota will try their luck on the arm of starter Brian Duensing. The Twins lefthander is 4-1 with a 3.22 ERA. Chicago will counter with Mark Buehrle. The White Sox ace lefthander is 12-9 on the year with a 3.84 ERA.

MLB picks oddsmakers at super-sportsbook Bodog.com list the White Sox as -122 moneyline favorites versus the Twins with an 8 total. Twins backers are getting +112 moneyline odds as the road underdog.

Duensing has been impressive since joining the Twins rotation as evidenced against Detroit on Friday when he held the Tigers scoreless over 6 1/3 innings allowing only four hits. As a starter, Duensing is 4-0 with a 1.70 ERA. He has made two starts against the White Sox, the last coming on Sept. 2, when he pitched seven scoreless innings but didn't factor in the decision.

Buehrle has struggled from the mound in the season's second half by going 1-6 in 11 starts since his perfect game against the Rays in July. Since that time Buehrle has allowed 89 hits and 38 earned runs over 69 2/3 innings. Buehrle is 2-2 with a 5.28 ERA against the Twins this season and has an 8-5 record at U.S. Cellular Field. He has a lifetime mark of 23-15 against Minnesota.

Orlando Cabrera hit a two-run big fly, as the Twins upset the White Sox 8-6 on Tuesday night. Minnesota won as +145 road underdogs, while the game played OVER the 9-run total listed by oddsmakers. Michael Cuddyer was 3-for-4 with a solo shot for the Twins, as Jesse Crain picked up the win in relief of starter Jeff Manship for Minnesota.

Paul Konerko went 3-for-4 with a dinger and two runs batted in for Chicago, while losing pitcher John Danks was roughed up for seven runs over six innings for the White Sox.

Free MLB Picks: Point-Spreads.com  advise taking the Twins as a road dog in this game (ML +122). Buehrle has been unreliable of late.
