Free MLB Picks - Twins at Tigers MLB Odds: The Detroit Tigers began their current series with Minnesota leading the American League Central Standings by two games - and after two games played,  still hold a two games lead. Tuesday was a baseball fans dream as the teams played a day-night double header with the Twins winning early and narrowing Detroits standings lead to one-game. Then Detroit came back in the night-cap, extending their standings lead back to two. Wednesday night the teams will play the third game in the series. The starting pitcher for Detroit will be Eddie Bonine. The Tigers righthander is 0-1 with a 4.60 ERA. Countering for the Twins is righthander Carl Pavano who is 13-11 on the season with a 4.86 ERA.

MLB Picks oddsmakers at BetUS.com give the moneyline edge, with Pavano getting the start, to Minnesota at -115 odds with a 9 1/2-run total. The moneyline price for wagering on Detroit is -105.

The Twins really need Pavano to continue his season-long success against the Tigers. He is 4-0 with a 1.69 ERA in five starts vs. Detroit this season, and he's 3-0 with a 1.61 ERA in the three starts that have come at Comerica Park.

Bonine's final scheduled start of 2009 will be the biggest of his career, giving him a chance to swing the Tigers' AL Central showdown with Minnesota in his club's favor. Bonine's simple goal -- give the Tigers a chance to win. If he can mix his knuckleball and changeup again while commanding his 90-mph fastball, he could well put up another stingy performance.

Brandon Inge went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in, as the Tigers edged the Twins 6-5 in the second game of their day-night doubleheader on Tuesday night. Detroit won as -160 home favorites, while the game played OVER the 8-run total listed by oddsmakers. Magglio Ordonez also knocked in two runs for the Tigers, as winning pitcher Justin Verlander allowed four runs over eight innings for Detroit.

Brian Duensing was ripped for five runs over 4 2-3 innings to take the loss for Minnesota, which cashed Game 1 of the twinbill 3-2 as +110 underdogs earlier in the day.

Free MLB Picks: Play the Twins (-115 ml) with Pavano versus the rookie. The Twins season is pretty much on the line in this game. They can't afford to go down three games with 4 to go (following today).
