Cardinals vs Brewers Game 6 Odds 2011 NLCS Picks

by Alexander Banks on Sunday, October 16th, 2011

Cardinals vs Brewers Game 6 Odds 2011 NLCS Picks: Last night we witnessed how the Texas Rangers advanced to their second consecutive World Series by eliminating the Detroit Tigers in six games. In the 2011 NLCS, the (3-2) St. Louis Cardinals [+120] and the MLB Odds favorite (2-3) Milwaukee Brewers [-130] find themselves in a similar position.

The only difference in the 2011 NLCS is that the team trailing will be the one heading back home for Game 6 and a probable Game 7. Miller Park will once again be rocking this evening, as the Brew Crew will be fighting for their playoff lives. All Milwaukee wants to do right now is stay alive long enough to force a decisive game at home.

Trusting him to get the job done, Milwaukee manager Ron Roenicke will send RHP Shaun Marcum (2011 playoffs: 0-2, 12.46 ERA) to the mound in a must-win game. Countering, Tony LaRussa will send former All-Star in hard-throwing right-hander, Edwin Jackson (2011 playoffs: 1-0, 3.48 ERA). Game 6 of this best-of-seven series gets underway tonight at 8:05 PM ET live on TBS Sports. Get $50 in Free MLB Picks Here!

My Game 6 Odds 2011 NLCS Picks: I truly believe that St. Louis is the better team, and that’s why I picked them to win this series since before it started. Now, I will not go back in my word: I still like the Redbirds in the World Series against the Rangers. However, how they’ll get there is the tricky part.

Looking at tonight’s pitching matchup, I can tell you that the Cards have an immediate advantage, and just because of the numbers you see there. Having said all that, I think the Brewers are at their best when playing desperate and at home. And that’s why I’m sort of torn between both sides tonight.

If I had to play it safe, I would say this will either be a complete blowout, or a one-run game, nothing in between. Therefore, being safe, I would take the Cardinals with a cushion of +1½ tonight. That way, even if St. Louis loses, you can still win your bet, because it would be by a single run… or I could be completely wrong and have the other scenario (the blowout one) play out instead… but I seriously doubt it!
