Free MLB Picks – Angels at Yankees Game 2 ALCS 2009: The Los Angeles Angels will be looking to steal a game from the New York Yankees while in the Bronx for Saturday night's (8 pm. ET, Fox) game at new Yankee Stadium. Currently down 0-1, it would be a feather in the Angels' caps to have things evened up prior to returning to their home field. Of course, on the other foot, New York hopes to head into Anaheim up by 2 games.
Los Angeles will look to starter Joe Saunders with hopes of knotting the series. The veteran Angels lefthander consistently has done some of his best work on the road. He's 25-10 with a 3.97 career ERA on the road compared to 23-12 with a 4.43 ERA at home.Saunders pitched twice at old Yankee Stadium. He beat the Yankees in his sixth Major League start there on Aug. 11, 2006, holding them to three runs, two earned in six innings.
Countering for the Yankees will be righthander A.J. Burnett. The veteran Burnett was 1-0 with a 4.26 ERA vs. the Angels in 2009, logging a win on Sept. 23. In the two starts, Burnett allowed six runs on 15 hits in 12 2/3 innings while walking four and striking out 16. He was 5-3 with a 3.51 ERA in 16 starts at Yankee Stadium this season.
The Yankees pounded out 10 hits en route to a 4-1 victory over the Angels in Game 1 of the series on Friday. The Yankees won the game as -180 favorites, while the five goals went UNDER the posted over/under (8.5). Hideki Matsui went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI in leading the Yankees. CC Sabathia tossed eight innings for the win.
Kendry Morales drove in the lone run for the Angels, who were +160 underdogs. John Lackey gave up nine hits and four runs over 5 2-3 innings in that loss.
Free MLB Picks: we like the Angels to even things up with Saunders on the mound (+165 ml).
