World Series Betting Odds: Boston Red Sox vs Colorado RockiesThe 2007 World Series betting odds are out for the Boston Red Sox and the unlikely Colorado Rockies who will play the World Series to determine which team will reign as Major League Baseball’s champions of 2007. Not many are surprised to see Boston back for the second time in three seasons but to predict the Rockies inclusion at the beginning of the season would have been a reach. When the clubs were in spring training back in March, oddsmakers at Bodog (Bodoglife.com) projected Colorado as a100/1 odds long-shot to win the Fall Classic while Boston was a solid choice at 9/1.

Oddsmakers at online sportsbook BetOnline.com has issued the earliest World Series betting odds . They have the Boston Red Sox favored at -235 odds to win the best of seven game series over the Rockies who are getting +195 juice as the underdog.

The Red Sox are also -207 money line favorites to win game-one Wednesday with ALCS MVP Josh Beckett getting the call to take the mound. The Rockies (+187 underdogs) will counter with their ace, Jeff Francis.

While trying to determine who to bet on in the series, don’t get to caught up in the hype. Baseball pundits will throw a love-fest all over the Red Sox with their notorious line-up and solid pitching rotation. The same thing happened last year when the Saint Louis Cardinals as +190 series underdogs were given very little chance of beating the favored ( -220) Detroit Tigers. The Cardinals stumbled into the World Series then caught fire in the playoffs and rode the momentum into the World Series winning in five games.

The Rockies had the easier time of it thorough the two National League playoff rounds. The Rockies became the first team ever to sweep both the division series and league championship series in the same postseason. The club moved to 21-1 over all games played after September 15.

After sweeping the ALDS in three games from the Angels, Boston fell behind three games to one to Cleveland in the ALCS but won the final three games and winning the AL pennant on Sunday.
