Giants at Phillies Game 6 MLB Playoffs 2010 Picks, Predictions & Odds: With their backs against the wall down 1-3, the Philadelpia Phillies won game five of the National League Championship Series forcing a sixth game back in Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park today (8:00 PM ET). The Giants will start Johnathan Sanchez for Game-6. The Giants left-hander is 13-10 on the season with a 3.01 ERA. Roy Oswalt, who went 14-13 during the regular season with a 2.74 ERA.
Bodog.com lists the Phillies, with Oswalt as the starter, -163 moneyline favorites with a 7-run total. Giants backers, with Sanchez the starter, are getting +148 odds as the underdog.
Can Oswalt rebound from his unexpected inning of relief in Game 4, when he gave up a run and took the loss? The Phillies would much rather get the guy who threw eight innings of three-hit, one-run, nine-strikeout ball in Game 2.
Sanchez was effectively wild in Game 2, striking out seven, walking three and allowing three runs, two earned, in six innings, but Oswalt was simply better that night. Sanchez has a 2.03 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 13 1/3 postseason innings.
The Phillies beat the Giants 4-2 in Game 5 of the series as a -118 favorite on the road. That game's six runs made it OVER the posted 5 1/2 total. Roy Halladay scattered six hits and two earned runs over six innings for the victory. Brad Lidge tossed a scoreless ninth for his first save. Tim Lincecum suffered the loss, giving up four hits and three runs over seven innings for the Giants.
MLB Picks: This series will go the full seven games. Oswalt will get it done tonight.
