Rangers at Giants Game 2 2010 World Series Picks, Predictions & Odds: In Wednesday's 2010 World Series opener, one of those great pitchers – the Rangers' Cliff Lee or Giants' Tim Lincecum – had to lose. It's not surprising the Game-1 loser was Lee, pitching for the visiting team and against the reigning NL Cy Young winner Lincecum, and on the road. Now down 0-1 to the Giants, life will not get any easier for Texas in Game-2 as they must face right-hander Matt Cain, who is 1-0 this postseason and has not given up a run in the process. The Rangers will counter with their ace left-hander C.J. Wilson who is 1-1 this postseason with a 3.93 ERA. First pitch is set for 8 PM ET.
The Giants won Game-1 as +117 underdogs, while the 18 runs sailed OVER the posted 5 1/2 total set at Bodog. Juan Uribe went deep for a three-run homer for the Giants. Tim Lincecum scattered eight hits and four runs over his 5 2-3 innings for the win. Lee suffered his first postseason loss, giving up eight hits and seven runs over 4 2-3 innings for Texas. Freddy Sanchez had four hits and drove in three runs on Wednesday as the Giants chased Cliff Lee from the mound in an 11-7 rout of the Rangers in Game 1 of the World Series.
Wilson shined in the ALDS, tossing 6 1/3 scoreless innings in a Game 2 win over the Rays, but struggled a bit against the Yankees in the ALCS. He was solid in his first outing but gave up five runs in five innings in a Game 5 loss.
Cain has yet to allow an earned run in 13 2/3 innings this postseason, including seven scoreless to net the win in Game 3 of the NLCS. Cain beat the Rangers in Interleague action in 2009, with eight scoreless frames at AT&T Park.
MLB Picks: The Giants will be difficult to beat in their home park with Cain getting the start. SF is the best play at -110 odds.
