World Series: Red Sox Sweep Rockies, Mike Lowell MVP!The Boston Red Sox sweep the Colorado Rockies to become the 2007 World Series Champions with a 4-3 victory in Game 4 at Coors Field. Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell went 6 for 15 for a .400 batting average and earned the 2007 World Series MVP. Lowell was a MONSTA in the clincher by hitting a homer run, a double and scoring twice.

“The long ball was a special moment,'' said Lowell “I knew I hit it well and it was a great feeling.''

Mike Lowell was about score 6 runs in the World Series after batting fifth behind David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez. The former Florida Marlins “throw in” player from the Josh Beckett trade had a MONSTA regular season batting .324 with a team-leading 120 RBI’s. Lowell benefited from opposing teams walking Big Papi and Ramirez. Expect Mike Lowell’s stock to go up in the off season as he becomes a free agent after the Marlins unloaded him in the Beckett trade to avoid paying his $9 million dollar salary.

Online sportsbook BetUS.com had the Boston Red Sox as -235 odds favorites over the Colorado Rockies at the start of the series. Point-Spreads.com spoke to one Boston native that is up 30k from  his 2007 World Series bets as they captured their second title in four seasons after waiting 86 years between World Series titles and after lifting the “Curse of the Babino”. The win made Terry Franco 8-0 in World Series games as well as Boston’s eighth consecutive World Series victories.

“2004 was for our parents and grandparents and everyone that suffered through eight decades,'' Red Sox Chairman Tom Werner after the game. “This is for us and our children and everybody in Red Sox Nation, that we can do it again.''

Point-Spreads.com would like to congratulate the 2007 World Series Champions, the Boston Red Sox.
